Church fire leaves St. John's with a spiritual congregation and a new Allen Organ
Rejoicing was far from church members' minds on March 31, 2009, as they watched their church go up in flames. "That's a date none of us will ever forget," said Pastor Chris Bushre. The church was undergoing renovations at the time of the fire, and fire inspectors believe the blaze started in the rafters of the old church. In the years since the fire St. John's congregation members have been able to look back at that night as a blessing in disguise.

Following the 2009 fire, church members voted to rebuild at the same location. The church utilized Laborers for Christ to help build their new facility. The new St. John's Lutheran Church is completely handicapped accessible. The church features an education wing, a dedicated office space, a conference room, and a new Allen Organ.

The new Allen Organ is a state of the art instrument that features digital samples of actual pipe organs that give organists the power and majesty of instruments costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Steve Steely, who did the final voicing for this amazing instrument, says "this Allen Organ can authentically perform any music written for an   organ and is the perfect accompaniment instrument for choral and congregational singing". Call or email Steve Steely if you are interested in more organs we have at Allen Organs of Iowa.
